Purchasing Manager
Workplace: Koło
We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our team. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing the purchasing strategy within the company’s global structure. The role involves cooperation with domestic and international suppliers, managing the purchasing team, and supporting the organization in ensuring an efficient and stable supply chain.
We are seeking a leader who can effectively manage the purchasing function, make data-driven decisions, and build long-term, partnership-based business relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-developing and implementing the purchasing strategy to support business objectives and company growth.
- Managing the team by setting direction, developing employee capabilities, and building an engaged and high-performing organization
- Managing purchasing categories and optimizing the supplier base structure
- Leading strategic commercial negotiations and building long-term relationships with key suppliers
- Analyzing purchasing spend and identifying as well as implementing cost optimization initiatives
- Monitoring the supplier market and pricing trends, as well as developing and qualifying new business partners
- Working closely with internal departments on material demand planning and process optimization
- Managing supply chain risk and ensuring supply stability and continuity for production
- Preparing reports and analyses for the Management Board, monitoring purchasing performance, and recommending improvement actions
- Improving purchasing processes and implementing analytical tools to support business decision-making
- Managing inventory to balance availability with carrying cost in line with business targets and establishing improved methods for overall inventory control and monitoring
Requirements:
- University degree, preferably in engineering, economics, or logistics
- Minimum 5 years of experience in managing a team within the purchasing area in a manufacturing company
- Good command of English enabling effective day-to-day communication
- Ability to analyze costs and draw conclusions based on data
- Strong expertise in purchasing processes, contract negotiations, and building supplier partnerships
- Very good communication skills and the ability to make decisions in a dynamic business environment
- Knowledge of ERP systems supporting purchasing processes
